Introduction
In 1866, Ebenezer Bowditch started the Millwood Hunt Club with hounds imported
from England and a group of eager equestrians. The Millwood Hunt Club thrived for
over a century; the oldest hunt club in New England and the third oldest in the nation.
The hunt disbanded in 1969 and its remaining 90 acres were sold. Grovecrest Farm
sits today in the middle of those 90 acres; between a dairy farm and horse farm and
adjacent to over 800 acres of state forest and conservation land with numerous trails
for jogging, hiking, cross-country skiing and riding.

Grovecrest Farm has access to shops, restaurants, and major highways in less than
10 minutes yet sits in the middle of the countryside. This 11 acre gentleman's farm
includes a horse barn, paddocks, landscaped lawns, a spring-fed stocked trout pond,
mature shrubs and trees, an apple orchard, and an elegant tree lined private drive
from the main road.

The 10,000 square foot house is spectacular; enter into a two story foyer with onyx
floors and a curved stairway; step down into an expansive, sun-lit living room with
floor to ceiling glass and sweeping views of the open lawns, the pond, and barn. All
eight bathrooms have marble or travertine floors with the master bath having wall to
wall marble. Enjoy the 40 foot indoor pool, solarium and entertainment area. Take a
steam in the steam room or enjoy the views of the farm from the huge jacuzzi tub.
Curl up in front of any of the five fireplaces. Or relax on the front or back porch with
nothing to see or hear but nature.
